• North Mankato deadly shooting: Suspects were looking to 'rob a plug', charges say (fox9.com) — North Mankato police are pursuing a homicide investigation after a 17-year-old was fatally shot during an alleged robbery setup, with two young men now facing attempted aggravated robbery-related charges. Investigators say more arrests are possible and are asking anyone with information to contact the North Mankato Police Department as they piece together witness accounts, GPS data, and the events of the May 23 shooting. 
• Southland softball drops state quarterfinal to BOLD (postbulletin.com) — High school softball fans saw Class 1A state tournament action at Caswell Park in North Mankato, where Southland fell 4-1 to BOLD in Tuesday’s quarterfinal. Pitcher Kaitlyn Flann held Southland to two hits, both by Laney Weis, and the Rebels now move into a consolation semifinal back at Caswell Park late Wednesday morning.
