Police are asking businesses and residents in flood-prone areas to watch for rising river levels.

Northfield police are asking businesses and residents in flood prone areas to be aware of flooding and rising river levels.
Following heavy rain across southern Minnesota Thursday night, the Cannon River in Northfield could continue to rise to flood levels in some areas over the next several days, according to a news release.
Property owners in flood prone areas are urged to evaluate their flood preparedness and monitor weather information and river levels.

If your home or business is in the river/flood zone, police say you should ensure you have the materials, resources, and contacts necessary to enact protective measures if needed.
City personnel will continue to monitor river levels and will disseminate more information as it becomes necessary.
