Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. A new bank is moving into the building vacated by M&amp;I Bank late last year. <a href="https://www.associatedbank.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Associated Bank</a> is planning to open a new branch in the building this May, according to a company official. "We are always looking for new opportunities to improve our branch footprint," said Steve Steen, regional retail director for Associated Bank. "We chose this location because Oakdale is a growing, vibrant community with a great retail center." The company will be hiring seven to eight new employees at the branch, a company spokeswoman said. The bank will include a drive-up ATM, and be open six-days-a-week. This will be the company's second new Minnesota branch location of the year, she said. The first opened in January in Inver Grove Heights. "The new branch fills a gap for Associated in the branch footprint," Steen said. "It allows for more coverage in the Northeast metro."
