Associated Bank to Open New Branch in Vacated Building
The new bank is scheduled to open in May in a vacant building near McDonald's.

A new bank is moving into the building vacated by M&I Bank late last year.
Associated Bank is planning to open a new branch in the building this May, according to a company official.
“We are always looking for new opportunities to improve our branch footprint,” said Steve Steen, regional retail director for Associated Bank. “We chose this location because Oakdale is a growing, vibrant community with a great retail center.”

The company will be hiring seven to eight new employees at the branch, a company spokeswoman said. The bank will include a drive-up ATM, and be open six-days-a-week.
This will be the company’s second new Minnesota branch location of the year, she said. The first opened in January in Inver Grove Heights.

“The new branch fills a gap for Associated in the branch footprint,” Steen said. “It allows for more coverage in the Northeast metro.”
