Be a Reading Tutor in a St. Paul School

Be a Reading Tutor in a St. Paul School!   AARP Experience Corps is seeking literacy tutors age 50+, both men and women,  to provide classroom tutoring to students in grades K-3 who are reading far below grade level. Tutors who work 10 hours a week are eligible for a small stipend, but you may volunteer for fewer hours. No experience is necessary; training and ongoing support are provided. You must enjoy children and want to see them succeed! They need your help!

 Requirements:

* Able to commit for the full school year

* Willing to work 2 to 3 days/week (10 hours/week referred)

* Available AM or PM

* Have care and compassion for children 

* Agree to background check  

* Minimum high school diploma

* Age 50+

Stipend:

Tutor for 10 hours per week and receive an AmeriCorps stipend and college education credit award transferable to child, grandchild, or foster child).

 Information sessions will be held: Wednesday. July 31 OR Friday, August 9. 2013 (1-3pm)
