Be a Tutor in a St. Paul School (2013-2014)

Be a Reading Tutor in a St. Paul School!   AARP Experience Corps is seeking literacy tutors age 50+, both men and women,  to provide classroom tutoring to students in grades K-3 who are reading far below grade level. Tutors who work 10 hours a week are eligible for a small stipend, but you may volunteer for fewer hours. No experience is necessary; training and ongoing support are provided. You must enjoy children and want to see them succeed! They need your help!

Requirements:

* Able to commit for the full school year

*Willing to work 2 to 3 days/week (10 hours/week preferred)

* Have care and compassion for children

* Agree to background check  

* Minimum high school diploma

* Age 50+

Stipend:

Tutor for 10 hours per week and receive an AmeriCorps stipend and college education credit award (transferable to child, grandchild, or foster child).

Information sessions will be held Wednesday. July 31 OR Friday, August 9. 2013 (1-3pm)
