The Boomer Tsunami: What it Means for You and Your Family

Two well-respected experts will address the topic “The Boomer Tsunami: What It Means For You and Your Family” at an event at Century College, East Campus Lincoln Mall. The event is free and open to the public.

Tom Gillaspy, Minnesota’s state demographer, and Tom Stinson, the state economist, will give a fact-filled presentation followed by questions and round-table discussions.

The two speakers will address the following questions: How do we jump-start our economy? How will the growth in Baby Boomer retirements affect housing, businesses, schools, churches and families? What will be required of new workers as we meet the needs of a changing economy?

Participants can expect a stimulating conversation based on solid demographic data, not rhetoric. Action steps to strengthen our community also will be discussed. Rep. Carol McFarlane will be the emcee for the evening.

The event is a first in a series of community conversations hosted by Century College, the White Bear Area Chamber of Commerce and the White Bear Press.
