Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. Oakdale Police officers were involved in a brief high-speed vehicle chase that ended in a crash and on-foot pursuit near the intersection of Century Avenue and Conway Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday. <a href="http://www.mnpoliceclips.com/short-oakdale-mn-police-chase--crash-3172013.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">LISTEN TO THE SCANNER AUDIO</a> An Oakdale Police officer called in a report of a vehicle driving the wrong way southbound on Century Avenue at speeds of near 100 mph, and crashing at Conway Avenue. After the crash the suspect fled on foot before officers were able to take the subject into custody. One passenger was found inside the crashed vehicle. Fireighters and EMS crews also were dispatched to the scene.
