Community Education seeks volunteers to help youth with disabilities learn to swim

Do you love swimming? You do not need to be a certified swim instructor to help youth with disabilities learn to swim. Our certified instructors plan and lead our group classes. Volunteers work one-to-one with a child in the pool to help him/her develop confidence in the water and learn basic swimming skills.
Classes are held at John Glenn Middle School and run for six weeks on Tuesday evenings. There are two youth classes each night. Volunteers can help at one or both classes. First time volunteers must attend a training class at John Glenn.
Dates: October 3, 10, November 14, 21, 28 and December 5
Times: 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 – 7:15 pm
