European Wax Center Opens In Plymouth

Natural, affordable and local describes the new European Wax Center now located in Plymouth. The new business opened in October.

Only the second one of its kind in Minnesota, the wax-only salon brings former Plymouth resident Cindy Yared back into the community. She hasn't been far away though as a current resident of the Woodland village in Wayzata. Yared is happy to be back in business in a location she loves.

"I'm just so excited to be here and to be providing this service," Yared said. "I love working with professional women and love being in Plymouth in a dynamic and perfect location with all these retailers around me. We have everything right here."

With a background in finance, Yared is an empty nester with her five kids all now grown up and away from home. She worked as an Account Executive with Dean Witter Reynolds, now Morgan Stanley, and in the late 1980s Yared attended Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minn.

Yared said she was attracted to European Wax Center’s rapid growth, strong business model and focus on providing clients with an outstanding service. She was introduced to the Center when she tried the services at a Colorado location during a college visit with her two youngest children that attend college there.

And even in this economy, Yared sees a great opportunity with providing this service and is hopeful about the future of the economy for small, new businesses.

"Those who wax continue to do so and we provide it as an affordable luxury," Yared said. "Often waxing is a part of people's routine self maintenance."

The Center provides several different pricing packages, pre-paid wax passes and a reward referral program. Yared likes the fact that the business continuely provides discount or even free services to let people see what the European wax experience is like.

European Wax Centers are known for providing a comfortable, healthy waxing experience using an exclusive strip-less Comfort Wax™ developed in Paris, she said.

"Our wax is made with 100 percent natural beeswax, no alcohol and is no warmer than room temperature, it clings to the hair and not the skin," Yared said. 

The four-step comfort wax system is designed to produce the "ultimate wax experience" by cleansing, protecting, waxing and rejuvenating the skin.

European Wax Center carries its own line of high-end products for the body, face and eyebrows to help guests continue the Experience at home. Products contain a blend of high-performance ingredients like antioxidants, vitamins and soothing aloe that calm skin. They are designed to nourish and moisturize skin while protecting it from bumps and blemishes.

Yared said the business has been going well and many customers aren't just from Plymouth and the west metro, but from the greater metro area. With only one other Center in Calhoun Square in Minneapolis, the two stores often get cross overs. When one place is booked the other is called to see if there are openings for that day.

The new Plymouth business has 11 total employees, most work part time and one manager who is full time. The company provided professional training for all employees to be experts at the waxing services provided.

Yared said there are more Centers that will be popping up in the metro in the near future in Minnetonka, Roseville and Eden Prairie. She hopes to own another Center soon too.

The European Wax Center in Plymouth is open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. You can make reservations via phone or online and you will get a call two days ahead of time to confirm your visit.
