Cancelled: Last Day For Plymouth Farmer's Market
Inclement weather cancelled today's Plymouth Farmer's Market in the parking lot of the Plymouth Ice Forum.
With rain and storms possible today, the final 2011 was cancelled.
This year's market, which has been from 2:30-6:30 p.m. every Wednesday, was even more popular than before.
"We had a great turnout with over 9,500 in attendance throughout the season," said Plymouth Recreation Supervisor Alyssa Krumholz.

With theme nights throughout the season including an , nutrition night, and “Go Green” environmental night, there were many new ways to entice patrons to the marke this year.
"The weather for this season made it very trying for vendors with some very hot market days and storms, but we still received an excellent turnout" Krumholz said.

Planning for the 2012 begins as soon as the 2011 season wraps up and will go on throughout the year until the 2012 season starts.
"The musical entertainment and theme nights went well, so I will look at incorporating those two things, as well as the idea of providing more information on nutrition to patrons attending," Krumholz said of plans for next year.
Krumholz will start sending out information on vendor applications in January 2012 and the vendors will be chosen and contacted in early spring.
Krumholz said that the overall experience for those who attended included making connections and building relationships with the vendors seen every week.
"It has become a great community event bringing everyone together during the week and I look forward to finding more ways to continue this positive environment for community members," she said.
New challenges for next year's market include incorporating a potential new design in the layout of the farmers market in the Ice Forum parking lot and working to improve the flow of the market within that space.
"It is a great central location for the community and we'll be continuing to look at how we can make it more accessible for vendors as well as patrons," Krumholz said.
All vendors are local and are from within 50 miles of Plymouth.
For this last week at the market Roe Family Singers will be back again with their blend of lively folk music. Also returning are the Environmental Quality Committee with expert information on composting.
