Multiple Injury Accident Closes Portion of I-94 Westbound Near Maple Grove

Initial reports from indicate at least five people were injured, two air-lifted to the hospital.

The accident near Brockton Lane North is blocking three lanes of traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

An accident Thursday morning around 10:07 a.m. on westbound I-94 near Maple Grove and Rogers at Brockton Lane is blocking three lanes of traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The Maple Grove Police Department, Dayton Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff’s office are among those law enforcement personal on the scene, according the Police Clips Facebook page.

It is unknown how many vehicles were involved or possible injuries.

Updated 10:47 a.m. June 27: "I-94 westbound: Road closed to traffic. At I-494 (Maple Grove). The road is closed to traffic. Look out for a serious accident," according to MnDOT.

Update 11 a.m. June 27: Preliminary information from the Minnesota State Patrol indicated five people were injured, two transported by air to the hospital. 

Updated 11:23 a.m. June 27: "Vehicles that were heading west are being allowed to cross the median and head the other way," according to StarTribune.com.

Updated 11:32 a.m. June 27: According to initial information provided by the Minnesota State Patrol, it appears the accident involved two vehicles. "Expect full road closure an undetermined amount of time. WB 94 will be closed at 494 shortly," Minnesota State Patrol updated at 11:14 a.m. Rogers Police is assisting. 

Updated 11:46 a.m. June 27:  MnDOT Traffic tweeted: I-94 WB: Road closed to traffic from MN 101 to Exit 213 - 95th Avenue North (near Dayton). Serious accident.
