Plymouth Police Seek Citizens for Police Academy
Plymouth Public Safety Citizens Academy begins Thursday, Sept. 8, and meets weekly for 12 weeks in the evening

The free Academy is 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays for 12 weeks.

The Academy is open to adults who live or work in Plymouth.
What all do you get to learn more about with the Academy? Weekly sessions include information on patrol operations, police tactics, legal issues and touring the in Golden Valley, which will be relocated to Plymouth in the future.

“The purpose of the academy is to provide participants an opportunity to learn more about the public safety services available in Plymouth and foster an on-going partnership with the department and academy participants," said Plymouth Community Relations Officer Jim Long, coordinating the Academy. "A well informed citizenry is a great asset to the .”
The Academy also includes learning how investigations are conducted, going through decision shooting scenarios and seeing the operations of the Fire Service Division.
To apply you can simply call Long at 763-509-5135 and ask to have an application mailed to you. The Plymouth Police Department will run a criminal history check on all applicants.
