• 18-Year-Old Accused Of Plotting ISIS-Inspired Mass Shooting At Mall Of America (patch.com) — Richfield residents are learning that an 18-year-old was arrested in their city after allegedly buying what he believed was an assault rifle and ammunition as part of an ISIS-inspired plan to attack the Mall of America. Federal authorities say a long-running investigation led to an undercover sting that intercepted the suspect after he allegedly picked a specific October event and discussed killing dozens of people.
   

• Loring Park gunman made chilling threat before Minneapolis mass shooting: search warrants (newsbreak.com) — Newly unsealed warrants in a deadly Minneapolis high-rise shooting reveal the gunman bought his firearm at a Richfield gun shop after earlier trying to purchase there. Investigators say he made explicit threats against building staff and a security guard in the days before the attack. The documents outline escalating behavior and repeated complaints right up to the September 2 shooting.
