Best Buy Recalls Rocketfish iPhone Case

The company announces it has "voluntarily" recalled the iPhone accessory.

Richfield-based announced Wednesday that it has removed all Rocketfish battery cases (Model RF-KL12) from its selves, in Canada and the United States, that were made for the iPhone 3G and 3GS for safety reasons.

According to a company press release, the phone case can overheat while charging, which poses a fire hazard. There have been 14 reports of the battery cases overheating in the U.S., including three reports of minor burns to consumers and four reports of minor property damage. However, no injuries required medical attention.

Best Buy is working with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to notify customers who have purchased the product, according to the release.
