Richfield Real Estate Market Finally Gains Some Speed

An update on Richfield real estate happenings and a suggestion for real estate developer Ron Clark.

For a few years now, we have all been watching, waiting, and hoping. Well let me tell you it is finally happening. What is it that I'm talking about? It is the long awaited "positive real estate market."

As a professional real estate expert, all I'm hearing these days is, "Wow, every house has a sold sign!" Well, not every house. In my personal experience, in order to receive the highest offer homes must be in top notch condition. In the past couple weeks, I sold 2 Richfield homes within days of them being listed. They also sold for at or very near asking price. Why did this happen? They were in immaculate condition.

We have all noticed our fair share of foreclosed properties across our city that sit abandoned for months at a time. Maybe a developer would like to buy these, rehab, and then sell to median income households. Wouldn't this make more sense than building another potential trouble hot spot?

As of April 1, there were 36 foreclosure or short sale homes in the City of Richfield. What would and the City of Richfield feel about a project like this?? Look at how well the mixed use project at 76th Street and Lyndale Avenue is working out. My belief is something of that sort would be better suited for the old city garage site.

As not only a Richfield resident, but someone who has a vested interest in my hometown's well being, I would love to see continuing positive signs.
