Chamber Honors Businesses, Students at Annual 'Salute' Luncheon

The Richfield Chamber of Commerce's annual Salute to Small Businesses luncheon was May 30.

Two small businesses and two local high school students were honored by the at its 27th annual Salute to Small Business Awards luncheon Wednesday.

Landscape company and the law office of LaFayette, Melssen & Plath, Ltd. were both inducted into the chamber's Small Business Hall of Fame, while Student Hannah Gallucci and student Tenzin Soman were both awarded scholarship for their achievements. Scholarship sponsors were and .

The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Bloomington and was well attended by members of the business community, city staff, and family and friends of the honorees.

As a special treat, this year's speaker was Carrie Tollefson, a native of Dawson, MN and a participant in the 2004 Olympic games. Tollefson talked about perserverance and getting after your goals. She is currently training to try-out for the Olympic track and field team to go to London this summer.
