Developmental Movement in Early Childhood

Learn how movement affects children's development, behavior and academics

July 20, 7-9pm, Think Bank, 3655 Hazelton Rd, Edina, MN 55435

Children love to move. Developmental movements organize a child's brain for learning and for emotional balance, along with building physical coordination and alignment. Children who skip early developmental movements may have more difficulty with behavior, reading and math. The good news is that movement can rewire the brain at any stage of life. Catherine Burns, Registered Somatic Movement Therapist, will discuss the role of movement in children’s development at the Holistic Moms Network Twin Cities Chapter meeting. Catherine supports childbearing women and young children, starting prenatally as a bodyworker and doula, lactation counselor and craniosacral therapist, and as a somatic development movement therapist (www.MamaBebe.org).

Holistic Moms Network is a non-profit national organization that connects people who are passionate about holistic health and green living. The Twin Cities Chapter holds monthly meetings the third Wed of each month, 7-9 pm. No matter where you are on your parenting or holistic journey, you are welcome! Children are welcome.
