Golden LivingCenter-Bloomington is hosting its first
"Aging in Place Educational Fair" in collaboration with the Minnesota Chapter of Aging in Place Council on Thursday, July 26th, from 4:00-7:00 PM. The Aging in Place Council is a network of professional service providers that
offers information and assistance to senior citizens who want to remain living in their own homes for as long as they can. The primary goal is to delay and possibly avoid nursing home care altogether. Aging in place services typically include in-home care, adult day care, home accessibility and modifications, healthcare, in-home physical and occupational therapy, elder law services,
financial advising, and geriatric care management. Informative presentations from the following Aging in Place community leaders will be provided every half
hour beginning at 4:30 PM: Aegis (rehabilitative therapies), Maser, Amundson and Price, PA (elder law), Access Solutions (home modifications), and Store to
Door (grocery shopping). This will be a great opportunity to get free professional advice from over 15 Aging in Place organizations to make staying at home possible. Golden LivingCenter-Bloomington is located at 9200 Nicollet Ave. S. Call Linda Hinz at 952-881-8676(ext 239) for questions about this event or directions.
