Work/Life and Flexibility Expo

Over 250 Twin Cities business leaders and professionals will gather to explore ways to maintain a positive work/life balance at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest sponsored by Working Family Resource Center of St. Paul.

Workshops led by several of the nation’s top workplace experts will cover topics designed to help businesses adjust to and support an evolving workplace. Topics from this year’s expo will include:

  • Building resilience in the workplace.
  • Leveraging social media to communicate work/life initiatives, mind, body and business.
  • The corporate lattice: Achieving high performance in the changing world of work.

An awards ceremony, one of the event highlights, will honor companies and individuals that strive to demonstrate a healthy, positive work/life balance. This year, Debbykay Peterson, from the Minnesota Department of Education, will be honored with the 2011 Elaine McCormick Wray Award, which recognizes an organization or individual for outstanding work promoting the philosophy and services of the Working Family Resource Center.  Recipients of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation award also will be announced at the expo, honoring employers who implement flexible and effective practices to achieve both employee and business goals.
