While a wind-swept Tuesday night ended in a 17-5 loss for the , for 72 seconds, the Stars held a glorious 3-2 lead over defending state champion Benilde St. Margaret's—seeded first in Section 5, ranked first in Minnesota and undefeated this spring—on its home field.
However, Bennett Courrier-Oaster's goal at the 2:42 mark of the second quarter only seemed to awaken a team that had been sleepwalking up to that point, as the Red Knights knotted the score at 3-3 one minute, 12 seconds later en route to taking a 7-3 halftime lead.
