One Richfield Man Had a Worse Weekend Than You Did

Police received a report on Feb. 23 of an adult recklessly discharging a firearm, accidentally shooting himself in the hand. The shooter-turned-victim was taken to the hospital.

Feb. 23

• A vehicle break-in with losses and damages totaling less than $500.
• Police took a report of theft from a vehicle with losses and damages totaling more than $2,500.
• An officer responded to a report of theft from a vehicle on the 1300 block of East 78^th Street.
• A retailer reported check fraud for more than $500.
• Gas theft on the 7500 block of Lyndale Avenue.
• Police responded to a reported shoplifting on the 6400 block of Lyndale Avenue. The suspect was already in custody and was charged with shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance.
• Richfield police responded to a reported  shoplifting on the 7700 block of Nicollet Avenue.
• Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 6400 block of Portland Avenue.

Feb. 24

• Theft of property valued at less than $500 was reported.
• An adult was arrested for fleeing police.
• Two juveniles were cited for possession of tobacco.
• An officer responded to a call reporting the violation of a protection order.

Feb. 25

• Richfield police responded to a report of harassing phone calls.
• Financial transaction fraud was reported.
• An adult was arrested for driving without insurance and giving a false name to the police following a routine traffic stop.
• An adult was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
