Katie MacEachern, Sarah Nygaard, Lucy Nordstrom and Lisa Nielsen recently participated in the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State event held in June 2011 at <a href="http://www.bethel.edu/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Bethel University</a> in Arden Hills, MN. The 60-year-old event is coordinated by the American Legion Auxiliary and saw 371 girls in attendance from from around the state, according to Kathy Nervick, grandmother of Nygaard. The girls particiapte in state government activites and also held a mock session at the Capitol. Sponsors of the Richfield girls were the Richfield American Legion Post 435 and Savage American Legion Post 643 auxiliaries.
