PHOTOS: Holy Angels Softball Drops Season Finale

Holy Angels to open sectional playoffs at St. Paul Academy Wednesday.

The dropped its regular-season finale, *5-1, to New Prague at on Monday to fall to 4-13 overall and 2-12 in the final Missota Conference tally.

The visiting Trojans took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed as Anne Baregi scored the Stars' lone run of the game in the home half of the opening frame.

Ahead 3-1, New Prague pushed across three more runs in the top of the second inning to conclude the scoring for the contest as Holy Angels Taylor Lemke shut down the Trojans for the remaining five innings.

However, the Stars were similarly squelched, never getting a runner past second base for the remainder of the afternoon en route to the five-run defeat.

Next up for Holy Angels is the first round of the Section 4AA Tournament, with an opening game at St. Paul Academy on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. With a win on Wednesday, the Stars would advance to a winner's bracket quarterfinal on Friday at a site yet-to-be-determined.
