Rep. Thissen: Republicans Are Reaching Into the Pockets of Minnesotans
House Minority Leader Paul Thissen responds to the Republican budget target.
After weeks of pushing the Republican caucus for a budget proposal, DFLers in the Minnesota House of Representatives were finally delivered budget targets Thursday.
However, while Republicans recently estimated that $32 billion was enough to balance the budget, that number is now $34 billion.
"Apparently living within our means is not as easy as the Republicans made it seem to Minnesotans on the campaign trail," said (DFL-Minneapolis), who represents part of Richfield. "Today's release of the Republican budget targets proves that the magic act that Republicans promised Minnesotans is running into hard reality."

Thissen said the new target was a classic case of misdirection, where Republicans are putting money into the pockets of Minnesotans while reaching in the other and taking.
