PHOTOS: Richfield Spartans Track Teams Compete at Irondale Invitational

The Richfield boys and girls track and field teams joined forces for the annual "Knights Under The Lights" invitational meet at Irondale High School in New Brighton, MN on a frosty Friday evening, placing fourth as a combined team.

Irondale used a combined scoring system that added the top boys and girls results from each event together to declare a shared champion for each event.

The Spartans claimed first place in two events, winning the long jump and the 300-meter hurdles.

The long jump team of Jordan Sefon, Brian Christian, Jessica January and Tia Rowe breaking the meet record for combined long jump distances; the previous meet standard was held by the Richfield quartet of Diahn Zeon, Warren Matthews, Alycia Ford-Washington and Jessica January.

It was the second meet of the week for the Spartans, as the girls and boys both finished first in a home triangular meet on Tuesday. 

Richfield is scheduled to travel to Mahtomedi, MN for the Kunz Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
