Hannah Olson recently received an honorable mention award for her role as "Frenchy" in RHS's rendition of "Grease."
Editor's Note: Richfield High School (RHS) theater students recently participated in Hennepin Theater Trust's Spotlight Showcase along with students from 47 other Minnesota high schools. Patch caught up with some Richfield participants to discuss their theater life. Hannah Olson is junior at Richfield High School and recently received the Honorable Mention for Performance in a Leading Role award for her portrayal of "Frenchy" in RHS's production of "Grease."

Hannah Olson: "Velma" in "Chicago."

Richfield Patch: What's your favorite piece of musical theater and why?
Olson: I've always loved "Cats" since I was little because it's so entertaining.

Richfield Patch: Do you hope to stay with musical theater beyond high school?
Olson: If I have an opportunity yes, it would be fun to continue.
Richfield Patch: How has performing with your high school troupe enriched your talent?
Olson: It has made me a stronger singer and actress in general, and has made me appreciate the arts a lot more.
Richfield Patch: What does the Spotlight Showcase honor mean to you?
Olson: It makes me feel very proud and is another reason for me to stay in theater.
