Richfield's Free Summer Food Program Kicks Off Monday

Richfield Public Schools and the city work to provide free breakfast and lunch to any kid 18 years and younger.

Richfield's 2011 Summer Food Service Program began serving breakfast and lunch to qualified kids at various sites throughout the city Monday.

The program was run by the city from 2005-10, but this year Richfield Public Schools took the program over. The feeding program aims to provide healthy meals for kids year round, not just during the school year. The sites are open to all area kids 18 years and younger.

The feeding sites are as follows, according to Richfield Recreation's summer program guide:
