SEC Reports $10K in Laptops Stolen
The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's Incident and Arrest reports from May 14, 2012, detailing incidents from May 10-12.
May 10
- A 45-year-old Minneapolis man was charged with second-degree DUI after being stopped for speeding.
- A vehicle theft was reported on the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue.
- A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend entered her residence, took her phone and then destroyed it. The phone is valued at $250.
- A possible case of identity theft was reported.
- A woman was cited for disorderly conduct.
- A victim reported receving 29 threatening text messages.
- Police responded to a report of a protection order violation.
May 11

- After a routine traffic stop, the driver of a vehicle was cited for marijuana possession and the passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- A business on the 6400 block of Penn Avenue reported a burglary. Damage to doors and windows was estimated at $5,000.
- Graffiti was found on a retaining wall at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 77th Street. The wall was spray painted blue and appeared to be gang graffiti.
- A student reported his wallet had been stolen during school hours at the SEC facility on 74th Street and Penn Avenue. In a separate report, laptops valued at $10,000 were also reported stolen from the building.
- A cleaning staff at found a substance and drug paraphernalia.
- Unknown suspects lit paper on fire in the front of an apartment door, which was also smeared with barbeque sauce.
