Teens Hurt In Northern MN Train Crash After Blowing Stop Sign: Sheriff's Office

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says it appears that the pickup truck did not stop at the tracks, but drove through the stop sign.

Three teenagers were injured in a train crash in northern Minnesota this weekend. At around 4 p.m. Saturday, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says a Dodge pick up truck was traveling westbound on Skibo Road near Pine Street in Bassett Township when it was struck by a northbound CN train. All three occupants of the pickup truck were taken to Northern Pines Hospital.

All three sustained injuries, but the extent of the injuries are currently not fully known. Authorities say it appears that the pickup truck did not stop at the tracks, but drove through the stop sign. The incident remains under investigation at this time, according to a news release.
