PHOTOS: The Three Wise Men Entertain Richfield Latino Youth
Larger than expected crowd participates in family event; more than 200 children attend.
A swarm of Latino children flocked en masse to see , or Los Reyes Magos, at on Friday evening, the day of Epiphany. The Wise Men handed out gifts to eager and excited children as Rosa Rubio, one of the event's organizers, tried to maintain a steady flow of traffic next to them.
Rubio, the board of directors vice chair for (Modulo de Informacion, Recursos y Apoyo), said that the crowd was larger than expected at Friday's event. MIRA, in collaboration with the (JCPP), received donations for the gifts and raffle prizes that were handed out.
Insisting that the event was not meant to be a religious one, Rubio said, "When we started organizing this, we were like, this is our Santa who brings presents to the Latino kids all over the world."

Before the Wise Men arrived, children were treated to a jumping castle, face painting and coloring. In another corner, children waited in line to spin a wheel, pick a prize and talk with members of . Cassie Sisson, a Richfield Cadet, said that it was an opportunity to let kids know the police department is there if they have problems.
With the larger than expected crowd, Rubio said it makes them hopeful that it would be an annual event.

"We're hoping to have [even] nicer presents next year," Rubio said.
