Blue Waters Brass Fall Concert

Blue Waters Brass Presents:

J.S. Bach's Passacaglia & Fugue in C Minor - BWV 582

On November 10, 2013, Blue Waters Brass (BWB) will present a free concert featuring J.S. Bach’s Passacaglia & Fugue in C Minor at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

BWB is an 11 member brass ensemble comprised of professional and amateur musicians based in the Twin Cities.  BWB performs regularly in the Twin Cities area and is known for its wide variety of repertoire spanning the genres of classical, bluegrass, march, jazz, renaissance, contemporary, and locally composed works.

The November 10 concert will be the first in the 2013-2014 concert season.

When: Sunday, November 10, 2013  

2 p.m.

Also being performed will be The Bells by William Byrd, Komm Susser Tod by J.S. Bach, Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite by Karl L. King, and First Suite in E Flat for Military Band by Gustav Holst.  

Bach’s Passacaglia & Fugue in C Minor is widely considered one of his most important works.  Originally composed for organ, the work has been arranged for symphony orchestra, piano, brass, large wind ensemble, and other chamber ensemble formats.  BWB will perform the work as arranged by Michael Allen for The Boulder Brass.
