Roseville Hotel Occupancy Hit Notes in 2012
Roseville hospitality Industry did 'perfectly' fine in 2012.
βPerfectly Positionedβ Roseville did perfectly fine in 2012 based on the year end occupancy and average daily rates as reported by Smith Travel Research Company (STR). The company tracks hotel occupancies and average daily rates both nationally and internationally.Β
The STR (pronounced star) Reports allows us the ability to compare our local hotels to what we determine as our competitive set; hotels in our vicinity, or competitors with the same facilities/style or the hotels which compete with us for the same customer segments. Those segments might be groups, meetings, conferences, weddings or leisure.
The Roseville Visitors Association contracts for a report that shows how well our area performs versus our competitive set in occupancy and average daily rate on a monthly basis. Minnesota Hospitality and Lodging Association orders a statewide report.

Based on the reports wrapping up 2012 the Roseville Hospitality area achieved occupancy levels comparable to Minneapolis and Bloomington which is quite exciting when you look at the number of hotels and sales people all out selling their hotel and areas. The local city Destination Marketing Organization works hand in hand with hotels to help support and enhance those efforts. To that end, the RVA has a highly energized team of 3 compared to Meet Minneapolis with a team of 49 and Destination Bloomington with a full and part time team of 21!Β
Our hotels also did an excellent job of raising the average room rate almost $3.00 over 2011.
