Why Have National Record Store Day Now ?
To Get customers to Buy In Shops and Stay Off-Line; National Record Store Day: Sat 20 April 2013 6am- 10pm
Greetings Customers,
Are you aware of the idea behind "National Record Store Day" ? as many are not.
When the whole Idea started seven years ago (yes seven) it was, to get people OFF the Internet & the Phone, and back into the Stores to Shop and Purchase Items again.
The manufactures of these such items are making roughly 500 copies to be distributed amongst roughly 1500 stores, Nation Wide.
Stores may order what ever they wish, it will be up to the distributor what stores get what items. When the items do arrive, they come with a letter stating "It is in your best interest, not to divulge what items you have received until you open your doors Sat 20 April 2013. As the whole idea is to get paying customers back into your stores to buy merchandise"
So, NO store really knows what they are getting until Friday evening before National Record Store Day. However traditionally the most "Record Store Day Product" goes to the longest standing establishments, who order the most product throughout the rest of the year.
I would venture to guess that since "TreeHouse Records" in MPLS got "Record Store" of the year, they will be getting the most "Record Store Day Product"
So in closing I am truly sorry, we can not say for sure.
