Tacheny’s “Shake the Cage” events bring hockey passion to District 44 Senate Race
In order to get the attention of voters (both Democrats and Republicans) District 44 Senate candidate, Republican J. Tacheny, will continue his “Shake the Cage” Crescendo events at the Maplewood YMCA Community Center, 2100 White Bear Avenue, Maplewood, MN 55109, in the final two months of election season. Events will be held Monday, September 14, featuring Allen Shen, House District 40 B Candidate, and a presentation of the documentary, Minnesota Mao, and Monday, October 12, featuring presentations by Joe Thompson, former prosecutor of Minnesota Fraud cases and Dan Dilla, tax expert, discussing Minnesotan’s need for tax relief. In a unique approach, first-time candidate J. Tacheny has coordinated his campaign events with other Republicans running for office, opening discussions that feature other party members while welcoming frustrated Democrats and Independents tired of the radical shift of the DFL, eager to preserve the traditional family values that made Senate District 44 one of the best areas in Minnesota to live.
The “Shake the Cage” series has been a great rallying call, gathering regular people from the northeastern suburbs of District 44—Maplewood, Little Canada, North Saint Paul, Oakdale, Pine Springs and Landfall—discussing common sense solutions to build a better future for Minnesota. While these gatherings first started at the North Saint Paul VFW, their passionate popularity demanded a larger venue, leading to the current location at Maplewood YMCA Community Center, 2100 White Bear Avenue, Maplewood, MN 55109.The immediate enthusiasm of these “Shake the Cage” events reflects the urgent state of the social and political atmosphere, evoking the action J. Tacheny—one of Minnesota’s best Hockey goalies for both Hill Murray and Tartan high school teams in the 1980s, who also tried out for the 1988 Olympic team—occasionally took to change a game’s momentum. (A rare action by a goalie, to “Shake the Cage” is to force stoppage in play by turning over the net he’s defending. While the move stops play, it also brings a 5-minute penalty, so it’s only done when necessary.) The September 14 and October 12 events each reflect this current political atmosphere in different but related ways.
Finally, in sync with all other J. Tacheny campaign gatherings, these “Crescendo” events express the ultimate value found in the J. Tacheny for Senate campaign slogan:
