Here it comes again "NRD"

National Record Store Day was Designed Solely to get Customers BACK Into The Shops & Off-Line !

"National Record Store"

Was set up in April 2008 to give Establish Independent Record Stores an Advantage over the Precious Intronets On-Line Seller- Dealers.
(of interest Scamazon & FREEbay exist TAX FREE, putting NO Money into the community in which you live)

The idea being; Established Independent Record Stores would be supplied with Extremely Limited Pressings (Usually Between 500- 1000 Made) of New One Time Only Records, with the Idea to get Buying Customers Off The Precious Intronets and Into The Established Independent Record Stores to spend money so the Independent Record Stores could pay their bills and stay open to continue to provide a Service to the Buying Customer in your community.

The Established Independent Record Store can order whatever they wish in the quantities they think they can $ell. The Distributor- Supplier, then makes a judgement call on what Established Independent Record Store will get what product (if any) and How Many They Will Get (if at all). There are many Rules & Regulations for the Established Independent Record Store pertaining to the "National Record Store Day" Releases.

The Stores Can Not:
1. Sell the titles before Street Date.
2. Sell the titles on the Precious Intronets, Especially before Street Date.
3. Hold Titles back for customers to purchase later.
4. Reveal what titles are on order that the Store will receive
(because the store is actually Not Certain until the product arrives the Friday night before the National Street Date on Saturday)
5. Fulfillment is based on how much that particular Recordstore orders through out the year.

Remember you have several thousand Record Stores Nationally ordering less than a 1000 copies, nation wide, there is simply not enough to go around. (There are over 20 Retail Stores Selling Vinyl in the Twin Cities area & a New One Next week "Hi-Fi Records" in Loring Park: MPLS)

Any Establishment caught violating these Rules, will be punished by:
1. Shipments arriving late, so that Store who complied get their product before the violators, to maximize their In Store $ales.
2. The Stores Will Not be supplied at all or at the very least dropped to the bottom of the list for product fulfillment.

Unfortunately very quickly "National Record Store Day" became a field day for "On-Line Record Sellers- Dealers" buying up as much "Rare" one time only releases and then selling them on the Precious Intronets for up to 5 times their selling price.

Essentially destroying the whole purpose of "National Record Store Day" by getting Customers into the Store to buy the NRD titles & other merchandise that Store carries and off the Internet that Destroyed the Entire Music Industry in the first place.

In addition too, robbing the Actual Buying Customer from a chance to get a New Release Record by their all time favorite artist, at a reasonable price.

So in closing, for the next "National Record Store Day" do yourself and your favorite Established Independent Record Store a favor, shut off your Intronets device go to your favorite Retail Store, talk to a person and buy something and support the community you live in !!!!
