Ramsey County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for summer 2014 lifeguard positions. Applications for these temporary, full-time positions should be submitted online through the Ramsey County website by 4:30 p.m. on March 7.
Positions are available at Battle Creek Waterworks water park and the county’s five guarded swimming beaches at Long Lake Regional Park, Tony Schmidt Regional Park, Vadnais-Snail Lakes Regional Park, Lake Josephine County Park and Lake McCarrons County Park.
Successful completion of Jeff Ellis and Associates lifeguard training is required. Ramsey County will offer two separate Jeff Ellis and Associates training courses March 14-16 and March 21-23 for new applicants. Course fee is $100. Successful completion of the course offered though the County does not guarantee employment. Two recertification courses will also be offered in May for returning applicants.

Lifeguards are expected to work full-time hours throughout the summer season. The 2014 beach season will run June 7 – Aug. 10. The Waterworks season will run June 7 – Aug. 17. Both may be extended based on weather conditions.
