Roseville author publishes first book for young readers

New novel a result of a family project

Neil Pascale, a Roseville, Minn., resident and youth sports coach, has recently published his first fiction book for young readers.

The book, called "Shine", is written for middle-grade/junior high students and is a contemporary fantasy novel. It chronicles a young pitching phenom who can't hit a softball nearly as well as she can throw it. A trip to the doctor reveals why, but also comes with a startling discovery: The girl can now see a part of the world invisible to others. A world filled with vivid colors and fascinating creatures, not to mention problems that are suddenly thrust upon the 7th grader. Problems that Katie believes are important to these normally divided worlds. But being a hero in one world may mean losing out on and off the softball field in her normal world.

"Shine" was just recently published and now is available at Amazon.com. (http://amzn.to/25w6lEY)
