Sports Roundup: Postseason Beckons For Roseville Soccer Squads
Roseville, Concordia girls and boys teams learn of sectional seedings and opponents over the weekend.

The Roseville Area High School and Concordia Academy girls and boys soccer teams are now preparing to charge into the postseason after the squads learned of their seedings and first-round opponents over the weekend.
Roseville Soccer
After a 6-5-5 regular season, the Roseville boys soccer team earned a No. 5 seed for the Section 5AA Tournament as the Raiders will open the postseason at No. 4 St. Louis Park on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Roseville girls soccer team, 2-13-1 overall in the regular season, was given a No. 6 seed for its 5AA bracket; the Raiders will play its opener at No. 3 Maple Grove at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Following a 5-9 regular season, the Concordia girls soccer team nabbed a No.5 seed for the Section 4A Tournament. The Beacons will open the playoffs at No. 4 St. Croix Lutheran on Saturday at noon.
On the heels of a 6-9-3 regular-season campaign, the Concordia boys soccer team opens the Section 5A Tournament as the No. 7 seed; the Beacons will host No. 10 PACT Charter at 7 p.m. Tuesday in its postseason opener with the winner to play at No. 2 Totino-Grace on Thursday.

The Concordia football team lost 54-26 to St. Croix Lutheran on Oct. 7, falling to 3-3 on the season.
Beacons quarterback threw for two touchdowns—to Jake Beasy and Lorin Edmund—with Christian Koehn and Roger Moore running for one score each in the defeat to Class AAA's third-ranked Crusaders.
Roseville Girls Tennis
The fourth-seeded Roseville girls tennis team was eliminated from the Section 4AA Tournament in a 5-2 loss to No.5 Hill-Murray on Oct. 5.
Selected members of the Raiders squad will compete in the sectional individual tournament beginning on Thursday.
Concordia Cross-Country
The Concordia girls and boys cross-country teams finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the White Division of the Blaine Invitational on Oct. 6.
Beacons' boys runner Steven Zeller won the division race with a time of 17 minutes, 18.4 seconds over 5,000-meters. Christina Hammerstrom led the Concordia girls with an identical time to Zeller's of 17:18.4 to take ninth overall in her 4,000-meter race.
