Of course the first thing I have to start with is the cake—that is kind of a no-brainer for me. Years ago I was told that guests come to weddings to see: The Bride’s Dress The Venue/Decorations The Cake I would like to apologize to the grooms---I think you were 9 or 10 on the list… The wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It should be grand and displayed in such a manner. Height is really the key here. Even if your cake is only one or two tiers tall, give it height! Wedding cake stands can be purchased online for a relatively low price (I suggest used, if possible.) But here at CAKES FOR RENT we are all about renting. Look for any cake supply stores near you—they might have some available to rent for cheap. But if you are like me and ALWAYS trying to cut costs, make your own ‘cake stand.’ Take coffee cans, large bowls (flipped over), books, or anything you can find around the house that can support the wedding cake and use these as your stand. Place the items on your cake table (make sure they are level) then drape a beautiful tablecloth over your makeshift stand. Then dress up your cake table with flowers, candles, or white lights. You just saved a bundle and your wedding cake is displayed for all to admire!
