Health & Fitness

When we tell ourselves something different, something different becomes possible.

Yesterday my  son and I were discussing back to school and some of the field trips that his class will attend. Some of his responses were , oh I don't want to do that, I am not good at that, that is just not me.It was amazing what he has decided about himself and his abilities, at 11 yrs old.
 This week I had similar conversations with some Roseville  moms. I  heard "I'm not a runner", "I am too old", "I could never find the time", "I am just not that motivated".
What if we stopped telling ourselves what we are not and consider what could be? What would happen  if we said "I could try that, that could work" ?

One of my favorite running buddies faced a stressful spring/summer, handling big life events while balancing a full time job, single motherhood and a child heading to college.Her calf muscle causes her grief but she makes it to each class, week after week,sometimes having to take it slow .Fast forward to last  Wednesday night, one of our last sessions for the summer and here she is running the entire 35 minute race pace run. She has signed up for the Fall session and figured out a schedule so that her daughter can be at her activity while her mom  is running. Talk about making it happen !!

Fall  and back to school brings with it new beginnings, new sports schedules, activities, homework. What about putting yourself on the list ?

One friend wasn't sure about signing up for class, was waiting for the new sports schedule to see if she could work it out. Next thing I know she just decided that it was her new schedule and her family could work it out for two hours a week. !

Kids in school?  Facing an empty nest?? Anything you want to add to your fall schedule now that you have a little extra time? Yoga? Art class? Running in Central park :o) We start the Fall  session  September 4th. A perfect fit  for super beginners to intermediate.If you need more info( Contact Vickie Victoria Seim <roseville@momsontherun.com>;
