In this workshop, led by Alicia De La Cruz, a Minneapolis-based Ojibwe artist enrolled in the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, participants will learn how to make a beginner-friendly beading project from start to finish. Participants can choose from loop earrings or a loop necklace.
Alicia De La Cruz’s work reflects a contemporary native art style and a touch of old style Ojibwe art with her own twist. She has been beading since the age of 7 and was taught this beautiful, traditional art form from her aunts and grandma. Especially important to her is the preservation of her culture, through both language and art.
