Celebrating Student Achievement

Principal at Minnesota Connections Academy applauds students from the online public school who embraced an exciting educational alternative.

"Graduation season is upon us and I couldn't be more thrilled for our students and their families. As principal of MTS Minnesota Connections Academy, an online public school serving students in grades K-12 across the state, this is a very rewarding time of year. I have been in education for more than 22 years and the pride I feel when a student receives his or her diploma is just as special. A diploma represents years of hard work and academic achievement. Our students have attended public school from home, utilizing technology to work with state-certified teachers while their learning coach monitors their progress. These students have forged new ground, leveraged the power of technology and taken education to another level – developing their own path to success. Many have shared that the online school environment has empowered them to play a more active role in their education; they feel more responsible and ready for the college or career that lies ahead. Our students will have the opportunity to meet, in person, for their graduation ceremony – an honored tradition that we are thrilled to provide even though they attended school virtually throughout our state. Congratulations Class of 2017 – from all of us at Minnesota Connections Academy, we are proud of you!" -- Melissa Gould, Principal, MTS Minnesota Connections Academy
