Westbound I-94 Ramp To Highway 61 To Close

Construction crews will temporarily close the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Highway 61/Etna Street in Saint Paul.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Construction crews will temporarily close the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Highway 61/Etna Street at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, weather permitting. In addition, the Hudson Place ramp to eastbound I-94 will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 7. These ramp closures are required to maintain a safe traffic flow on I-94 during construction.

The ramps are expected to re-open by early-May. The Interstate 94 reconstruction and improvement project will provide a smoother, safer, long-lasting road with better pedestrian accessibility and improved drainage capabilities, transit officials say.

Performing periodic pavement repairs at the appropriate times can greatly increase a road’s lifespan, according to a news release. The project helps ensure MnDOT’s transportation system will continue to serve the state for many years. Construction is expected to be complete by fall 2017.
