• Savage shooting: Neighbor arrested after attempted murder over dog dispute (fox9.com) — A neighbor dispute over a dog in Savage escalated into a shooting on Sept. 2, leaving a 39-year-old man in critical condition and a 46-year-old Savage man jailed on attempted murder and related charges. Police say the incident happened near Utica Avenue and 143rd Street, involved a prior verbal threat, and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

• MPCA completes 147 enforcement cases in first half of 2026 (state.mn.us) — State environmental regulators recently cited several Savage facilities, including Carmeuse Lime, Savage Riverport, and Liberty Tire Services, for air and industrial stormwater violations with fines ranging from about $2,500 to over $15,000. These penalties are part of 147 enforcement actions statewide in early 2026 aimed at reducing pollution and pushing companies back into compliance with Minnesota environmental rules.
