• ‘Every Buddy's' playgrounds now open at Jeffers Pond, Glendale schools (plnewscompass.org) — New inclusive “Every Buddy’s” playgrounds are now open at Glendale and Jeffers Pond elementary schools in the Prior Lake-Savage district, supported by groups including the Savage Rotary and Burnsville/Savage Lions. Community fundraising topped $259,000 to create accessible play spaces, and Redtail Ridge and Five Hawks elementaries are next in line if ongoing campaigns succeed. 
• Four options discussed by board for 2027-28 school calendar dates (plnewscompass.org) — Prior Lake-Savage school leaders are weighing four different calendar options for the 2027-28 year, including start dates from early August to after Labor Day. Board members currently favor an Aug. 30 start with a full five-day spring break, and expect to finalize the schedule at their Nov. 9 meeting, shaping future routines for Savage families.
