Plan ahead, find a space and enjoy the annual Derby Days Parade. Between 100 and 120 units will participate in this year’s parade, and include several bands, royalty, floats, dance performances, businesses and more. The parade route will be the same as last year, beginning at the corner of Sweeney Elementary School and proceed east along Tenth Avenue going to the Shakopee West Junior High School (Spencer Street), starting at 1:30 p.m. Parking will not be allowed on the parade route from noon until about 4 p.m.

Parade organizers and Derby Days Committee members have worked for many months preparing for this event and thousands are expected to watch the parade.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a pleasant and comfortable parade viewing experience.

Organizers thank the many businesses and organizations that sponsor parade units, or provide goods and services, plus all the volunteers who help out on the day of the parade. This is definitely a community effort.

The Derby Days Committee again thanks all who help make this parade a success. Your continued support is truly appreciated.
