Grand jury indicts man in deadly shooting at Twin Cities Eid celebration (newsbreak.com) — A grand jury has indicted a man on first-degree premeditated murder charges in the May shooting death of Khalid Abdi outside an Eid al-Adha prayer service at Canterbury Park Expo Center in Shakopee. Prosecutors say the suspect later surrendered at the Shakopee Police Department and now faces a possible life sentence if convicted.
2. Noise complaints rock a smooth first season at Twin Cities amphitheater (thederrick.com) — Mystic Lake Amphitheater's first concert season brought big-name acts and major crowds to Shakopee, but also a surge in noise complaints that city officials are now working with Live Nation to fix before 2027. Shakopee's mayor and council members say they're exploring sound sensors and other tweaks while keeping the 11 p.m. curfew, even as nearby businesses enjoy strong concert-night sales.
3. A Perfect Circle Announce 32-Date 2027 North American Tour With Puscifer and The Cult (rockumweb.com) — A Perfect Circle is bringing a big rock triple bill with Puscifer and The Cult to Shakopee's Mystic Lake Amphitheater on May 23, 2027, as part of a 32-date North American tour. Local fans can expect Maynard James Keenan to pull double duty that night, with artist presales starting September 30, local presales October 1, and general ticket sales October 2.
4. Matters of Record for Sept. 30, 2026 (duluthnewstribune.com) — Among a long list of recent St. Louis County court cases, the record notes a 37-year-old Shakopee resident fined for driving after revocation. While most entries involve Duluth and Iron Range defendants, Shakopee readers may want to know that local names can appear in these publicly reported Matters of Record from other counties.
5. Wilkin County District Court inmates scheduled for release in October (seminnesotanews.com) — A Wilkin County homicide offender is scheduled for October release from MCF Shakopee, the state women's prison located in Shakopee.
