DFL lawmakers planning to bring back Flock camera legislation (grandforksherald.com) — Shakopee residents' complaints about how Flock license plate cameras were allegedly used by federal immigration agents are driving a renewed push at the Capitol to tightly regulate the technology. Rep. Brad Tabke, DFL-Shakopee, plans to revive a bill in 2027 that would sharply limit how long data is stored, who can access it, and require clear signage where cameras operate. 
2. Tyson Goodsell Murder Suspect Facing Additional Felony Charge (ksum.com) — A Shakopee man already charged in connection with the May killing of Tyson Goodsell is now accused of making violent threats during a recorded jail call. He remains in custody in Nicollet County and faces an additional felony charge on top of several existing counts, with court hearings scheduled in September.
3. Records published Aug. 20, 2026 (wctrib.com) — Shakopee readers should know a 34-year-old was arrested Wednesday morning in Scott County on a Kandiyohi County warrant, though they were not listed as in custody later that day.
