• Shakopee Woman Charged After Allegedly Smashing Man's Cadillac Windshield With Bat During Guitar Dispute (limitless-news.com) — A Shakopee woman has been charged with felony first-degree property damage after allegedly shattering a man's Cadillac windshield with a bat during a dispute over a guitar on 3rd Avenue East. Police say she admitted striking the windshield once, while she told officers she felt threatened and planned to seek a restraining order. She remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

• More than $120,000 awarded to 2026 Lakefront Music Fest volunteers (plnewscompass.org) — Shakopee residents helped Lakefront Music Fest succeed through the Shakopee Rotary Club, which was among nearly 40 nonprofits sharing over $120,000 in volunteer-awarded funds. The Prior Lake Rotary's July festival drew thousands and generated proceeds now flowing back to local and regional service groups, while planning is already underway for the 2027 concerts in Lakefront Park.
