According to state health officials, the drastic reduction in resident movement has decreased the community spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The extension of the order will further aid in the spread of the disease while also allowing the state’s health care facilities to acquire necessary equipment and supplies to treat Minnesotans afflicted with the virus.
During the extension, grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and health care facilities will remain open. Other businesses that will remain open to provide essential services include banks, utility companies and home-based care services for seniors and people with disabilities.
