Trail of Terror Features Phantom Feast, Dark Carnival

This Halloween enjoy dinner and spine-tingling entertainment during the Phantom’s Feast at the Minnesota Trail of Terror October 13 through October 27!

The menu will consist of a Harvest Feast featuring a main course of Braised Short Ribs in Ruby Port Sauce with German Spaetzle and Balslamic Glazed Acorn Squash. Blood Red Velvet Cake will be served for dessert! As patrons are served their Harvest Feast, Jim Cunningham, a long-time entertainer at the Renaissance Festival, will provide an hour and a half of spooky entertainment. Join Cunningham and his one-man show Dark Carnival as you journey through the dark, twisted places of the Feast Master’s mind and experience the strange and frightening things that have fascinated him since childhood! 

Patrons are sure to be sitting on the edge of their chairs as the Feast Master frightens and amuses guests with scary tales of a Spirit Séance, the Salem Witch Trials, Gypsy Fortune Tellers, Harry Houdini, Insane Asylums and Jack the Ripper. Audience participation may even be required for full effect! It is sure to be an evening full of magic and mystery and even dark humor that will both terrify and delight you!

Jim Cunningham is a long-time Feast Master of the Feast of Fantasy at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Jim has been a Twin Cities actor for 25 years, doing improve at the Resident Improv Comedy at Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop and comedy acts in a number of well-known plays. Jim is seen every summer in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and in December in It’s a Wonerful Life: A Live Radio Play. Jim was the original Tony in the Minneapolis hit showTony and Tina’s Wedding and for many years he terrified guests in Hauntings or Do you Believe in Ghosts? He is currently the Minister of Fun for both the Minnesota Twins and Wild. He has been with the Festival since 1982 and began as a Feast Master in 1990.

Phantom’s Feast runs October 13 through October 27. Thursday shows are $55 per person, Friday and Saturday shows are $65 per person. Each Feast ticket also includes admission to Trail of Terror and a special gift! With only 11 shows, tickets are limited so reserve your seats early! The Trail of Terror featuring Phantom’s Feast is Minnesota’s largest Halloween event. Located seven miles south of Shakopee on Highway 169, Trail of Terror is open Thursdays through Sundays, Oct. 11–28. Open 7 p.m.–11 p.m., rain or shine.
